Poway is a large, inland community northeast of downtown San Diego and east of Interstate 15. It is 24 miles from the San Diego International Airport and downtown San Diego. A quick look at listings on our own website shows a townhouse with 1,600 square feet of living space and 3-bedrooms with 2-bathrooms at a listing price of $510,000. Higher up on the purchase price range we have a 8-bedroom, 6 bathroom home with nearly 5,000 square feet of living space on over 1.5 acres of land at a price of $1,275,000. The home was built in 2007 and has a mean house as well as a functional 2-bed, 2 bath guest house.

How are the schools in Poway?
Many parents first concern when purchasing a house and evaluating the area is to ask about the local schools. Poway is served by the Poway Unified School District. It is a large, respected public school district that encompasses some 100 square miles. Schools include Abraxas High School, Del Norte High School, Mt Carmel High School, Poway High School, Rancho Bernardo High School, and Westview High School. At the middle school level Poway has Bernardo Heights Middle School as well as Black Mountain, Design39Campus, Meadowbrook, Mesa Verde, Oak Valley, Twin Peaks.

And for younger students, there are a very long list of elementary schools in the district. Things to Do in Poway

Living in Poway puts you in close proximity to a number of fun outdoor activities, hiking trails and parks.  All the while, you are only 20 minutes drive to the coast in areas like Solana Beach and Del Mar.  With the average temperature in Poway reaching 79 degrees, the area is sunnier and warmer than the coastal neighborhoods in San Diego.  It is also drier, with less rainfall per year than much of the rest of the area.  Attractions include Blue Sky Ecological Reserve, a 700 acre canyon with trails and large oak trees, as well as Goodan Ranch, a 2,272-acre preserve with additional hiking and canyons to explore. Residents also take to Poway's Community Park for picnics and playgrounds, or head out to any number of other attractions including the Kumeyaay-Ipai Interpretive Center, Lake Poway for boating and a day by the water, Old Poway Park, the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, and the Poway Community Library.

Top restaurants in Poway include an eclectic mix of cuisine that you would expect from a community of over 40,000 residents.  Locals love places like Iron Pan Thai Kitchen, Wholly Crepe for breakfast or brunch, Silk Road for Mediterranean fare, and Everbowl, for the Southern California treat of acai bowls and smoothies.
